Mr. Ross is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Rover Capital, a merchant banking firm.
Prior to founding Rover Capital in 1996, Mr. Ross was a Partner at Ernst & Young (originally Clarkson Gordon), where he specialized in mutual funds and investment companies and in advising entrepreneurial businesses. During this time, Mr. Ross has served as the Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of Imperial Capital Corporation, a private equity firm.
Mr. Ross was a founding shareholder and served as a member of the Board of Directors of Enerflex Systems until its sale to Toromont Industries in 2011. Mr. Ross serves as a Director of Canadian Resource Income Trust, and in Bermuda, as the Chairman of Investment Committee of The McCalmon Trust and as Director of Butterfield & Company. From 1997 to 2004, he served as a Trustee and Chairman of Atlas Cold Storage.
Mr. Ross has both a BA and an MA in Economics from Cambridge University. Prior to Cambridge, Mr. Ross earned an honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Trinity College at the University of Toronto. He was also educated at Upper Canada College, where he was Head Boy and Governor General’s Medalist. Mr. Ross is a CA, and was awarded the Ontario Gold and Canadian Silver Medal.
Mr. Ross is a member of the Ticker Club and was its President from 1993 to 1994. He also assisted in the founding of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise and was a Director of its Upper Canada Chapter. He was also for many years a member of the C.D. Howe Institute.
Mr. Ross is a member of the York Club, Toronto Golf Club, Badminton and Racquet Club, as well as others.
