The Firm

Independent · Investor-Led · Focused · Nimble · Disciplined

Who We Are

CRIMSON Asset Management is an independent, investor-led investment firm focused exclusively on U.S. small cap equities. We manage one strategy, in one asset class, with one purpose: to identify and own exceptional U.S. small cap companies that deliver superior long-term capital growth.

We are not seeking to be the primary investment manager for our clients. We are your specialist second manager — the focused complement to your primary relationship. Co-founded by Ken Jesudian, former CEO of Burgundy Asset Management, and Anthony Ferrari, former Partner at Burgundy.

Three Competitive Edges

Analytical Edge

30 years of proprietary research in U.S. small cap. Relationships and access that cannot be replicated by generalist managers.

Structural Edge

Independent. Investor-led. One fund. Nimble enough to take meaningful positions that large funds cannot.

Behavioural Edge

Disciplined. Contrarian. Long-term. Seven cycles navigated — Asian crisis, tech bubble, GFC, COVID and beyond.

Investment Philosophy

Business owner’s approach to stock selection · Intensive proprietary research — universe of approximately 11,000 U.S. small cap companies narrowed to a focus list of approximately 200, then to 20–30 highest-conviction holdings · High-quality companies acquired at a meaningful margin of safety · Long-duration ownership oriented to compounding · Portfolio built company by company, not by sector.

Responsible Investing

ESG assessment is embedded in our proprietary research process. We draw on S&P Global, Bloomberg, and Sustainalytics. We engage management teams on governance, environmental, and social factors. ESG considerationsinform our research process but are not the primary basis for investment decisions.

“Active management strategies demand un-institutional behavior from institutions, creating a paradox that few can unravel.”
